I’m Natalie and I’m a single mum with 5 kids ranging in age from 3 years up to 12 years old. In October 2010 I made the decision to change my life and shed the 30kg i gained after having all my kids. I tried to lose weight myself and lost 12kg between october 1 and December 17 when I joined Fernwood for a little extra motivation. It took just over 9 months but I did it, I went from a size 18 (90kg) down to a size 8-10 (57kg). I have found a love for fitness in that time enjoying zumba, kickboxing and les mills classes like combat, attack, pump and rpm. I even became a qualified zumba instructor, I dont have classes but it took me out of my comfort zone by actually taking the step and doing the training. One day though I hope to have a class. Recently I discovered clean eating and its made a huge change (especially a change in how much i would bloat!) . Sadly staying 100% clean isnt possible for me anymore as I start of June 2012 I was put on a low FODMAP diet as my body struggles to digest natural sugars in many foods (see the side panel for more information about the Low FODMAP diet). Alot of healthy foods are making me ill and giving me major IBS symptoms. I am on the basics now, which at first I thought was horrible but its not too bad (the only thing that sucks is when I want to go out for lunch with my bestie) but still allow my once a month treat at my fave place Cocolat!! But t his blog will focus alot on clean eating and the new diet I am on Low FODMAP hoping I can help other IBS sufferers ease their symptoms through eating the right foods. There will be alot of tried and tested recipes as well as my daily life in general with my family, fitness and my love of cooking (sometimes maybe not so healthy but we are allowed treats now and then). I am also currently studying my certificate 3 in fitness although its slow going with this crazy hectic life of mine.
